About the Role:

Are you a dynamic and experienced program manager ready to make a significant impact? Tassal is looking for a Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our innovative Farming Operations team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the general managers of salmon and fresh water in managing programs, ensuring alignment and support while leading key initiatives. We are looking for someone with a blend of project/program management expertise and process/operations experience, to play a pivotal role in our strategic improvement initiatives and CAPEX projects.

  • Support senior management team on a multi-million dollar program
  • Drive the delivery of our improvement program pipeline.
  • Monitor and report on key improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with initiative leads to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Lead critical capital and process improvement projects.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across multiple sites.
  • Support CAPEX projects as a Start-Up Lead or Project Manager.

This role is essential for the safe and efficient operation of our Farming Operations and the achievement of our business KPIs and improvement projects.

To excel in this role, you will need:

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in program and project management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within a large organization.
  • In-depth understanding of Lean and process control principles, with Six Sigma training being a plus, and a track record of process optimization.
  • Experience in manufacturing or operations leadership, with a tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline being advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to facilitate cross-functional problem-solving events.
  • Demonstrated success in driving results through continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient in computer skills and project management tools/systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will assist the general managers of salmon and fresh water in managing programs, ensuring alignment and support while leading key initiatives. We are looking for someone with a blend of project/program management expertise and process/operations experience. This role has the potential to evolve into managing larger future projects.
