ABOUT THE ROLE
Downer’s Water Engineering Team invites you to take the next step in your career as a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney offices. Reporting to the Team Lead for Electrical Infrastructure and Control, you will play a vital role in shaping the future by integrating with and supporting construction, commissioning, operations, and management of LV & HV protection design for transformative upgrades to water treatment plants and groundbreaking greenfield projects. Your expertise will also enrich other business units in the Energy & Utilities Division, driving innovation and excellence.
Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:

Reporting to the Team Lead for Electrical Infrastructure and Control, you will play a vital role in shaping the future by integrating with and supporting construction, commissioning, operations, and management of LV & HV protection design for transformative upgrades to water treatment plants and groundbreaking greenfield projects. Your expertise will also enrich other business units in the Energy & Utilities Division, driving innovation and excellence.
Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Lead and assist team members in making technical decisions for assigned LV and Control Systems projects.
- Identify and submit all potential variations for client approval on assigned projects.
- Carry out design work according to the contract requirements, especially concerning client reporting and notification needs.
- Ensure design quality documentation is completed for assigned projects
- Monthly update on the resource forecast module for the assigned projects.

- We are a Tier 1 ASX-listed company with in-house capabilities far exceeding traditional contractors.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering and either EA Chartered Engineer status or RPEQ status are preferred.
- Demonstrated success as an Electrical Engineer in HV design, power generation, protection, and power system modeling.
- Exposure to electrical design, substation design, and protection systems.
