You will work closely with the Assistant Commissioner to ensure the agency's strategic goals are achieved, managing operational risk, while fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your innovative and communicative leadership style will extend to overseeing diverse teams; engaging in activities that attract and retain a workforce that is resilient, high performing and diverse. You will also manage resources and ensure the integration of effective practices for offender management.
In this role you will develop and maintain strong relationships with executive leaders, partner agencies, criminal justice groups and a variety of community stakeholders, addressing sensitive and contentious issues to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to support safer communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, promotion and implementation of the agency's strategic goals and direction
- Contemporary knowledge of human resource management principles as they apply to the management of a large, diverse and geographically spread team
- Provide high level advice to the Assistant Commissioner, Community Corrections on operational issues and ensure that the appropriate remedial initiatives are developed, implemented and evaluated where necessary
- Develop and implement Human Resource Management plans and systems for the region
- Cultivate strong working relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and partner agencies
- Manage an approved recurrent and capital budget for the region in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, rules, procedures and delegations
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a proven history as a senior leader, particularly in a criminal justice or human services field, with the ability to drive results, manage risk, and achieve strategic outcomes. You will bring strong workforce management skills, and a commitment to community and stakeholder engagement.
