About the Role

We’re seeking a talented Marketing Advisor who is ready for their next big challenge. The ideal candidate is bright, ambitious, and skilled in eDM automation, creation, and event coordination, with some graphic design abilities, social media content creation, paid social, and campaign experience.


This is a full-time role with flexible working arrangements, and you’ll be joining a dynamic and supportive team where your creativity and drive will thrive.


The Marketing Advisor will support the marketing and communications activities of Wesley Mission Queensland Limited (WMQL) by developing and supporting the Marketing Business Partners and Head of Marketing with a range of strategies that support service area requirements and ensure maximum engagement with new and existing customers.


This role works closely with the Marketing Business Partners and is responsible for implementing localised marketing campaigns and activities such as email and event marketing that deliver awareness, consideration, services uptake and growth outcomes.


This role requires an end-to-end understanding of the email campaign creation process, local area marketing, and the ability to apply best practice at every stage to improve the impact of communication, effectiveness of the work and efficiency of delivery.


Key Role Accountabilities:

  • Align one’s workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQL Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland Limited, Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Work with the Marketing Business Partners to develop marketing campaign material, website copy and deliver marketing campaign that contribute to customer acquisition and loyalty across key services and programs. This includes measuring, analysing and reporting on the outcomes of marketing activities/initiatives and ensure they meet the agreed targets and outcomes.
  • Coordinate WMQL’s advertising, promotions, aggregator listings, collateral, events and brand marketing initiatives. This includes supporting the development and implementation of local area marketing plans that align with divisional and WMQL strategies and are grounded in customer insights.
  • Coordinate the development of content for marketing initiatives including collateral, video and photography.
  • Coordinate and implement advertising and media schedules, including the development of assets and materials, for all marketing campaign activity across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • Demonstrate strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills across a diverse channel mix including digital content, and for stakeholders from various demographics, cultures, and levels of education.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader WMQL Marketing and Corporate Affairs team to ensure a coordinated approach to communications activity.
  • Support the maintenance and optimisation of the website including preparing content to drive SEO and ensure that all content is optimised for online viewing and search.
  • Support the Marketing Business Partners by building key stakeholder relationships to develop briefs and post implementation reports for various marketing campaigns.
  • Analyse and report on customer research, current market conditions and competitor insights to improve marketing strategies.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Must have three to five years’ experience in a similar position, ideally within a large organisation.
  • Ability to interpret, negotiate briefs and provide advice to ensure campaign and marketing requirements are met.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills and an understanding of different markets and how to interact with these audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high quality publications, marketing collateral and online content.
  • Proven stakeholder and project management experience with excellent time management, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within tight timeframes and perform under pressure, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to identify content opportunities and produce engaging, creative material.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and business function.
  • Manage eDMs and email automation, develop lead journeys, design templates, and assist in segmenting data with the analytics team to create targeted send lists. Act as the project lead for local area marketing events, coordinating all logistics for events and competitions, ensuring timely execution. Strong project management, presentation and communication skills with proven experience developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
