We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee maintenance and shutdown projects on a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) in the Bowen Basin. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a background in electrical maintenance, motors, cabling, switchboards, and control rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical maintenance and shutdown projects for CHPP operations, ensuring safety, budget, and timeline targets are met.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including mine site personnel, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical standards, mining regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets while managing resources effectively.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while providing solutions to technical challenges.
- Manage and lead a team of electricians, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and progress reports.
- Electrical Engineering degree highly regarded, or qualified tradesperson with upskilling and demonstrated project management experience.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and shutdown projects within CHPP, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of motors, cabling, switchboards, and control room operations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound understanding of Queensland mining regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Current QLD Electrical License (preferred but not essential).
- Reside in Mackay, Rockhampton or Central Queensland regions and able to commit to drive in drive out to the Middlemount region.
- $110 per hour + Superannuation
- 3 month initial contract, potential for extension
- 9 day fortnight roster (Mon-Fri/Mon-Thur)
- Accommodation & meals supplied while working
- Weekly pays
