Role purpose
The Legal Analyst is a newly created role that is responsible for working as part of IDP’s Legal team to provide legal analysis and support. The role will be responsible for conducting legal research and activities that enhance the Legal team’s existing processes and technology in the areas of matter management, knowledge management, template management and contract management. This will involve both using existing processes and systems and developing new processes and systems.
The Legal Analyst will be responsible for preparing legal agreements based on the current, and to be developed, suite of legal precedents and for working with the Legal team in negotiating agreements. The role is also responsible for legal research and analysis and advice on a broad range of commercial and corporate Legal matters.

Key accountabilities
Contract Preparation
- Preparing legal agreements based on templates for the IDP business including Student Placement, IDP Connect and IELTS.
- Working with the Legal team on negotiating and reviewing legal agreements
- Working as part of the Legal team to research and advise legal issues impacting the IDP business, including regulations impacting IDP globally.
- Working with the Legal team to develop standard legal agreements.
- Maintaining set of standard legal agreements and contractual clauses.
- Conducting research to develop and maintain processes to share information and knowledge and collaboration tools for legal matters
- Enhance the current processes for management of IDP’s legal agreements.
- Working with the Legal team and external counsel to research and effectively manage IDP’s global trade-mark database

- Attention to detail
- Previous experience as a legal analyst or paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal team.
- Experience with legal practice management tools
- Experience in centralised and decentralised office networks
