This role is essential for the successful delivery of our projects, involving concept design, detailed engineering, and construction support across various sectors, including civil infrastructure, bridges, buildings, and marine infrastructure. Working closely with our clients, you will bring their visions to life with innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Rail Bridge Design Works for the Sugar Cane industry and QR
  • Marine works for the Local Ship Repair Industries
  • Current works associated with the Cairns Water Security Project ($450M Project)
  • Infrastructure Design works for Local Government Authorities including Water Retaining Structures, Bridges, Culverts, Pump Stations and the like
  • Condition Assessment and Strengthening/Upgrade Works
  • Performing and managing simple and complex analysis, design, and documentation of various structures including but not limited to civil infrastructure, bridges, buildings, and marine infrastructure.
  • Maintaining existing and developing new, trusted relationships with key clients in the Northern Australia region.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplined team on a range of projects from conception, including design, management, site works, and construction surveillance.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining.
  • Passion for design documentation, assessment, and analysis of technical data and imparting knowledge, skills, and experience through the provision of professional development to others.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Code and Standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written (including report writing)
  • Demonstrated professional judgment and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget.
  • The capability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, and drafting briefs and mark-ups.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical reports in English.
  • Strong written communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information.
  • Ability to produce well-structured documents
  • A confident communicator who enjoys developing their industry networks and strong client relationships with an ability to think laterally in delivering innovative project solutions to our clients

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate success in delivering high-quality engineering designs and a commitment to continuous professional development. You will have successfully delivered projects across multiple sectors such as civil infrastructure, bridges, buildings, and marine infrastructure and have a passion for sharing knowledge and experience with junior engineers.
