About the Company

Our client is a family-owned custom home builder, established 13 years ago, with a team of 32 professionals. They have built a strong reputation in the industry, delivering high-quality homes valued between $750K - $1.5M.


With a steady pipeline of projects and continued business growth, they are looking for an experienced Sales Estimator to join their team and play a crucial role in their estimating and tendering processes.


 
The Role

As a Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tenders and variations, and ensuring that pricing aligns with project specifications. Your daily responsibilities will include:




  • Accurate Estimating in entirety, including but not limited to full bill of quantities, take offs, releasing of purchase orders, forming tenders, sales and colour variations and accurate costing of complex site costs

  • Support the estimating team as a whole

  • Release jobs in a timely fashion

  • Provide proactive solutions to ensure the estimating team, wholly, is working efficiently and accurately

  • Communicate regularly with all stakeholders and build long-term relationships

  • Assist in monitoring, managing and sourcing best purchase price and quality of materials and services.  

  • Identify, mitigate and escalate risks/issues and be an active problem solver

  • At times you may be required to complete work outside your general scope as we are a medium business. This may include assisting in sales estimating, procurement and managing of systems



About You
 

  • 5-8 years’ experience in the estimating field for residential homes  

  • Extensive knowledge of Databuild

  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft office programs

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities

  • Ability to work efficiently and productively when unsupervised

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

  • “Can-do” and proactive mindset  

  • Strong organisational skills and time management skills

  • Self-motivated and ability to learn and apply teachings quickly  

  • Dual skill in Sales and Production estimating is advantageous 

  • Onsite training will be provided to help grow your skill in the areas you may need assistance
