Dealer School is a prerequisite to becoming a Part-Time Table Games Dealer at Black Oak Casino. It consists of unpaid training that will be for 3 - 4 hours each day. Invitations to Dealer School will be granted to select candidates following the application, testing, and interview process. Upon completion of Dealer School, candidates will audition for a P/T Table Games Dealer position.

SUMMARY: Responsible for dealing and maintaining the integrity of the game being dealt.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

  • Deals Blackjack, 3-Card Poker and other approved table games under the supervision of Floor

Supervisors.

  • Represents Black Oak Casino (house) in the operations of Table Games play in the pit area-ensures game rules are being followed at all times by Guests, collects and pays bets in accordance with rules.
  • Maintains speed and accuracy of the game being dealt, keeping the game moving at an expedient yet acceptable pace, paying or collecting bets from Guests.
  • Maintains a professional appearance of the table at all times.
  • Ensures the game is protected to the standards of established policies and procedures, including ensuring the security of the playing cards, chip tray and all gaming chips.
  • Follows all operational policies and procedures established by Black Oak Casino in regard to Table Games.
  • Stays current on any policy or procedural changes/updates/ additions that may take place.
  • Assists the Casino in meeting the demands of fluctuating business volumes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Prior table games dealing experience preferred; must be able to successfully complete dealer training program if no prior experience possessed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass an audition of dealing skills.
  • Must have ability to pass an unassisted math skills test.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when business volume requires.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and Guest Service skills.
  • Must be outgoing and able to interact with Guests in a positive manner at all times, maintaining eye contact and smiling as often as possible.
  • Must have the ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Physical Demands

  • Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
