Key Purpose of Role:

Landis+Gyr is focused on growing the current Asia Pacific business to become the market leader for smart metering and smart grid solutions and a leading provider of IoT applications and data analytics, supporting the energy industry's evolution with the latest solutions.

Central to this business outcome is developing best-in-class AMI solutions and providing exceptional customer delivery, including the seamless implementation of complex and strategic programs with key customers. The role will also involve collaborating closely with the customer to finalise solution development and confirm implementation plans. The position requires strong project management, governance, collaboration, negotiation and customer/partner relationship-building skills. The role will be primarily responsible for leading a major AMI product implementation and overall procurement, training, logistics, and supply chain streams for the project. Fluent Cantonese and English language skills and strong project management, logistics and supply chain experience is essential. The role will be responsible for interacting with the Project Executive Sponsor through the Program Manager—key Program and senior personnel across Asia Pacific and North America, as required, including subject matter expert resources from these parts of the organisation.

Areas of Responsibility:

Project Management

  • Execute project requirements and exercise PM best practice for the project, overseeing project activities including
  • Procurement Management – procurement supervision, contracts, contribution to selecting contractor/s, administering contract/s and contract/s closing activities;
  • Schedule Management – activity definition and sequencing, resource demand planning, duration estimating, schedule development and schedule control activities;
  • Integration Management – project plan development, project plan execution and integrated change control activities;
  • Scope Management – scope planning, scope definition and scope change control activities;
  • Cost Management – resource planning, cost estimating, budgeting and cost control activities;
  • Risk Management – risk management planning, risk identification, risk quantitative and qualitative analysis, response planning, monitoring and control activities;
  • Quality Management – quality planning, quality assurance and quality control activities; and
  • Communications Management – communications planning, information distribution, progress and performance reporting and stakeholder communications management activities.
  • Update of the WBS consistent with relevant standards for allproject work.

Contract delivery and service

  • Management of the contract signed with the customer to ensure the business is complying with all agreed terms and conditions and that all contractual obligations are met and maintained throughout the contract duration.
  • Monitoring the performance of deliverables of the contract, liaising with relevant internal teams (eg Sales/Account Management for product deliveries, Projects & Services team for ticket resolution, Production team for RMA/Refurbishment)
  • Maintaining and tracking of agreed SLAs in the contract and ensuring that SLA metrics are accurately measured and documented.
  • Reporting of SLA performance and communicating it to key stakeholders
  • Provide detailed performance reports and trend analysis, highlighting any areas of concern or success.
  • Work with relevant departments to identify areas for performance improvement and implement strategies and solutions to enhance SLA compliance and overall contract performance.

Master Project Plan

  • Adequately documents how project will be executed, monitored and controlled;
  • Defines the managerial, technical and supporting processes and activities necessary for sound project development;
  • Includes topics as in Program Management above, which are deemed necessary to manage the project effectively
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule.

Communications and Change Management Plan

  • Update the communications plan for all project stakeholdersincluding stakeholder contact list, distribution structure, description of information to be disseminated, schedule listing when information will be produced and method for updating the communications plan;
  • Contribute to ensuring all stakeholders have been identified and their requirements and expectations documented and managed within the project's scope.
  • Update this Plan, which describes the process for making changes to project scope, requirements or cost as necessary.
  • Coordinating with relevant project team members and Development Contractor/s for review and approval of proposed changes to the project;
  • Ensure efficient project integration guidelines for approved changes are followed; and
  • Review the existing change management logs and determine which items will be taken forward for further analysis.

Risk Management Plan and Risk Register and Quality Assurance

  • Contribute to ensuring the Risk Management Plan identifies and prioritises potential risks to the successful completion of project phases and updates the Risk Register of all project risks throughout the project.
  • Update the QA Plan including the process for QA on project deliverables via the Deliverable Comments Matrix process and using the Requirements Traceability Matrix.

Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)

  • Update RTM that describes and provides a numbering system for all project requirements for traceability through testing. This should include test scenarios and acceptance criteria for all technical and functional requirements; and
  • Participate in requirements development as needed and traces requirements through testing and implementation via updates to the RTM.

Master Status Report

  • Participate in regular (weekly) project team meetings including Development contractor/s as appropriate, in which design / requirements reviews and discussions on project status, risks and issues occur;
  • Record project status, risk and issue dispositions for the past period (week) and planned activities for the upcoming period (week) in the Status Report; and
  • Collaborate in ensuring the Status Report meets requirements e.g. sections describing project management activities and needed updates to the Integrated Master Schedule, Master Risk Management Plan and Requirements Traceability Matrix and a relevant section for lessons learned from the project and other pertinent status information.

People Management

  • Manage the workforce to produce efficiently and perform job rotation where possible, including talent management and succession planning.
  • Facilitate effective change management and enhance employee awareness of Landis+Gyr’s challenges, opportunities and outcomes.
  • Undertake Landis+Gyr people management system processes for direct reports, including performance feedback and appraisal, annual objective setting, salary planning, training and development initiatives and talent management.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed to meet quality and environmental standards
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures

Management Systems

  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental and Safety standards and legislation.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are effectively implemented and actively support the team in carrying out their responsibilities.

Professional Experience

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in executing key solutions projects
  • Desirable to have prior experience in industry or related and transferable industry with focus on systems integration
  • Ability to understand key deliverables and apply strong governance methodologies.
  • At least 5+ years’ experience and proven record of collaborating with partners and other key project resources.
  • Desirable to have previous experience working within culturally diverse teams.

Qualfications And Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business / Engineering / Science / Information Technology or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in business / Engineering or related field and/or MBA or equivalent will be favourable.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent will be favourable
