Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity at Downer Group for a Finance Analyst – Performance. This role combines financial management, performance measurement, relationship management, and reporting & analysis. If you have strong financial management reporting and analytical skills, along with a passion for business partnering, then we would love to hear from you!

This is a permanent role requiring 5 days a week in the office, located in North Ryde. You will be working within a collaborative, close-knit team.

About Your Role

In this Finance Analyst - Performance role, you will support the Finance Manager by delivering financial analysis, managing and building Power BI dashboards and business partnering across all corporate functions including monthly and periodic reporting (Half year & Full Year), cost recoveries, cost allocations, forecasting, budgeting, and conducting ad hoc analysis outside the standard month-end procedures.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Support various corporate cost centres with their financial activities, particularly in identifying process, service, project, and component costs, as well as calculating and reducing costs related to corporate services, projects, components, and drive process inefficiencies.
  • Manage financial forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting.
  • Complete monthly GL reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Create and manage Power BI dashboards for reporting results.
  • Address problems and issues, manage resolutions, corrective measures, lessons learned, and gather and distribute relevant information.
  • Support the development and strengthening of relationships with key stakeholders & senior management.

You Will Also Bring With You

  • Degree in Finance / Accounting.
  • Experience in Power BI and MS Excel is mandatory.
  • Attained or working towards attaining CA/CPA.
  • Strong experience in financial management reporting.
  • Proactive in identification of issues, obstacles and ability to problem solve.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and managing budgets, financial forecasts.
  • Previous experience in delivering Half-Year & Full-Year reporting requirements (Analysis Book, other statutory deliverables).
  • Proficient in financial modelling, data analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Experience in GL management including cost allocation, recharging and journal processing.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to understand financial requirements and provide advice.
  • Experience with JDE/SAP & OneStream is preferred.
