After Hours Clinical Nurse Specialist (AHCNS)
Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2
The position supports nursing and medical staff, reviews all patients discharged from Intensive care, and any patient identified as at risk of deterioration. The role responds to and takes a lead role with the senior medical staff in all clinical emergency calls.
You will be an experienced registered nurse, clinically competent, with a broad range of clinical competence. You are able to recognise the deteriorating patients, implement interventions and appropriately escalate in a timely manner. Your communication skills must be of a very high standard, and you are comfortable communicating with all members of the healthcare team.
Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, you will be well supported and developed by the senior nursing team, Senior Medical Staff and the broader leadership team.

- Internal Rotation: Afternoon Shifts, Night Shifts, and 12-hour day shifts at weekends and on Public Holidays

- Full registration as a Nurse (level 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Post Graduate qualification in Acute Care, Emergency Nursing, Intensive Care or Coronary Care Nursing or equivalent
- At least three years’ experience in an acute healthcare facility in a relevant clinical specialty
- Experience working in both the public and private healthcare system
