We are looking for a Manager to join our Operations and Transformation team in Canberra, where you'll work with Defence and Government clients on transformation programs that shape how critical services are delivered.

What will your typical day look like?

You’ll work with clients to design and deliver transformation initiatives across operations, delivery and business change. That could mean helping shape future-state operating models, improving how programs are mobilised and governed, or bringing structure to complex delivery challenges where multiple stakeholders, priorities and risks are in play.

A big part of the role is turning strategy into action. You’ll help clients make practical decisions about how work gets done, where capability needs to shift, and what successful implementation looks like in environments where the stakes are high and the context is often complex.

Working closely with senior client stakeholders and multidisciplinary Deloitte teams, you’ll lead streams of work, guide junior team members and contribute to high-quality outcomes from discovery through to delivery. The work is varied, fast-moving and grounded in real operational impact.

About the team

Our Operations and Transformation team works with clients to solve complex delivery and operational challenges, with a strong focus on large-scale transformation, implementation and business performance. In Canberra, much of that work is with Defence and Government organisations navigating change in highly sensitive, high-impact environments. It’s a team that brings together strategic thinking, delivery discipline and practical problem-solving to help clients move from ambition to execution.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Experience in consulting, transformation, operations or delivery roles, ideally within Government or Defence environments

• Strong experience leading workstreams or projects involving business transformation, operating model design, implementation or service delivery improvement

• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and translating complex problems into clear, practical recommendations

• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills

• Analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity and bring structure to complex challenges

• Experience coaching junior team members and contributing to a strong team environment

• Australian Citizenship and an active NV1 clearance, or higher

• Experience in Defence consulting or working in secure, sensitive or asset-intensive environments would be valuable
