Chief Financial Officer
Moir Group
Company
An established Australian-owned assembly and wholesale distribution business is entering an exciting new phase of growth, creating an opportunity for a commercially minded CFO to play a pivotal role in its next chapter.
With a strong market position and ambitious plans for the future, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial capability, enhance financial performance and build the structure and discipline needed to support its continued expansion.
Working directly with the owners, the successful candidate will have a genuine voice in business strategy, the autonomy to drive meaningful change and the opportunity to influence the long-term direction of the organisation.
This is an ideal opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys being close to the business, influencing decisions and translating commercial insight into tangible results, rather than operating within the constraints of a large corporate environment.
Position
Reporting into the business and partnering closely with the owners, you will take responsibility for the financial and commercial direction of the organisation, balancing strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to execution.
Your focus will be on improving business performance, enhancing financial visibility and developing the systems, processes and capabilities required to support the next stage of growth.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with the owners to shape business strategy and drive commercial outcomes.
- Improving profitability, cash flow, forecasting and financial performance.
- Delivering meaningful management reporting and commercial insights to support better decision-making.
- Strengthening financial controls, governance, systems and business processes.
- Developing a more robust, efficient and scalable finance function.
- Evaluating investment opportunities, business initiatives and future growth strategies.
- Working collaboratively with operational and commercial leaders to improve accountability and performance.
- Providing constructive challenge, bringing financial rigour to decisions and ensuring finance is an active partner across the business.
Profile
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, wholesale, supply chain or another B2B environment will be highly regarded.
You are a commercially astute finance leader who combines strong technical capability with the confidence and maturity to influence at executive level.
CA or CPA qualified, you will ideally have developed your foundations in a larger corporate or sophisticated finance environment before moving into a privately owned, entrepreneurial or family-owned business.
You understand the importance of financial discipline and robust reporting, but equally recognise that effective commercial leadership means looking beyond the numbers to understand what drives business performance.
Comfortable working directly with business owners, you can move between strategic thinking and operational detail, challenge existing ways of working and implement practical improvements that deliver results.
Benefits
For the right person, this is an opportunity to shape the next chapter of a successful Australian business, build something meaningful and see the direct impact of your work.
A highly competitive remuneration package is on offer for the successful candidate.
