City of Boroondara
Project Manager - HRIS
Limited Tenure Contract to September 2027
Band 8 - $136,121 - $152,407 plus Superannuation
Have you led an end-to-end SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementation and delivered lasting improvements to people processes, workforce data and payroll integration?
We are seeking a Project Manager - HRIS to lead the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central through to September 2027. Working with People & Culture, Payroll, Technology, Finance, implementation partners and executives, you will deliver the system, process and data changes needed to improve employee experience and establish sustainable ways of working.
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Sponsor, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (SFSF EC), from mobilisation and solution design through configuration, data migration, integration, testing, cutover, stabilisation and transition to support. You will combine senior project leadership with practical technical delivery experience to achieve outcomes on time, within scope and within budget.
Key responsibilities include~
Leading Employee Central implementation across foundation objects, employee and employment data, position management, organisational structures, effective dating, workflows, role-based permissions and employee and manager self-service.
Managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, governance, assurance, risks, issues, dependencies and change control.
Leading technical delivery across solution architecture, configuration governance, environments, integrations, data conversion, security, reporting and technical assurance.
Coordinating implementation partners, technical specialists and business teams, and managing vendor deliverables, milestones, acceptance, knowledge transfer and performance.
Leading stakeholder engagement, communication and change activities; securing decisions across People & Culture, Payroll, Technology, Finance and executives; and challenging unnecessary customisation or retention of inefficient practices.
Overseeing testing, training, cutover, stabilisation and transition to support, including changes to the existing payroll interface, employee master-data ownership, effective-dated changes, integration controls, error handling and reconciliation to maintain payroll continuity.
Monitoring delivery and vendor performance, providing executive and governance reporting, and tracking benefits realisation.
Redesigning hire-to-retire processes around standard Employee Central capabilities, retiring manual forms, spreadsheets, duplicate entry, unnecessary reconciliations and shadow records rather than recreating them in the new system.
Leading workforce data migration and governance across employee, employment, position and organisational data, including profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, effective dating, validation, reconciliation, privacy and authoritative data ownership.
About You
You are a senior, delivery-focused project manager with practical experience leading SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementations. You can connect technical delivery with process redesign, workforce data governance and payroll continuity, while bringing stakeholders together to make decisions and adopt sustainable ways of working.
You will bring~
Demonstrated end-to-end Employee Central implementation leadership, from mobilisation and design to stabilisation and support, with practical delivery experience across core data, foundation objects, position and organisational structures, effective dating, workflows, permissions and self-service.
Demonstrated technical delivery leadership across architecture, configuration governance, environments, integrations, data conversion, security, reporting, testing, cutover and assurance, coordinating implementation partners, specialists and business teams.
Experience changing the technical and process relationship between Employee Central and an existing payroll solution, including master-data ownership, effective-dated changes, integration controls, error handling, reconciliation, payroll continuity and operational transition.
Experience redesigning hire-to-retire processes around standard Employee Central capabilities and eliminating manual forms, spreadsheets, duplicate entry, unnecessary reconciliations and shadow records.
Experience leading workforce data migration and governance, including profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, effective dating, validation, reconciliation, privacy and clear ownership of employee, employment, position and organisational data.
Strong senior project management capability across scope, schedule, budget, resources, governance, assurance, risks, issues, dependencies, change control, vendor performance, executive reporting and benefits realisation.
Highly developed stakeholder leadership, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to secure cross-functional and executive decisions, challenge unnecessary customisation and inefficient practices, and manage commercial and vendor outcomes, including deliverables, milestones, acceptance and knowledge transfer.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial equivalent experience are desirable.
