About Our Client
Our client is a large, established Australian organisation operating across a complex, multi-site environment. Technology plays a critical role in supporting business operations, with continued investment across cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure modernisation and service resilience.
The organisation is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to lead a small technical team and take ownership of its core infrastructure environment while supporting its broader technology roadmap.
Reporting into a senior IT Operations leader, the Infrastructure Manager will lead a team of four and take responsibility for the organisation's infrastructure, cloud platforms and associated technology services.Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of infrastructure and support professionals
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Manage and optimise Microsoft Azure and associated cloud technologies
- Oversee infrastructure across servers, networks, storage and end-user computing
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning and design through to implementation
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, scalability and resilience
- Drive initiatives to improve the organisation's cybersecurity posture
- Support identity and access management across Active Directory and Entra ID
- Manage technologies across EDR, NDR, ZTNA and PAM environments
- Support enterprise endpoint management through Microsoft Intune
- Oversee backup, recovery, disaster recovery and business continuity practices
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors and technology partners
- Contribute to infrastructure strategy, risk management and technology roadmaps
- Ensure technology practices align with recognised security standards and frameworks
- Maintain appropriate infrastructure documentation, standards and operating procedures
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be an experienced infrastructure professional with a strong combination of technical capability, leadership experience and project delivery skills.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in an Infrastructure Manager, Infrastructure Lead, Team Lead or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and enterprise cloud environments
- Experience leading complex infrastructure projects from conception through to delivery
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Experience across enterprise networking, servers, storage and virtualisation
- Experience with Microsoft Intune in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of backup, recovery and disaster recovery best practices
- Exposure to cybersecurity technologies including EDR, NDR, ZTNA and PAM
- Understanding of security frameworks including Essential Eight, ISM, NIST or ISO 27001
- Previous experience mentoring or managing technical staff
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management capability
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive approach to infrastructure improvement, security and technology modernisation
- Relevant IT qualifications would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
