Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the successful Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
- Processing end-to-end weekly payroll for a national workforce.
- Managing payroll adjustments, leave administration, salary packaging, and terminations.
- Completing payroll reconciliations, reporting, and month-end payroll activities.
- Maintaining employee payroll records, including new starters and leavers.
- Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant payroll legislation.
- Responding to payroll enquiries and providing support to employees and stakeholders.
- Supporting payroll system administration and continuous process improvements.
- Assisting with payroll audits and ensuring ongoing compliance requirements are met.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Officer should have:
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and termination calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working across multiple systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering accurate payroll outcomes.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Experience with TechnologyOne and/or not-for-profit salary packaging will be highly regarded.
