About The Role
The Capital Planner is responsible for developing detailed work plans, schedules, and resource requirements to support the successful delivery of capital projects within approved programs. Working closely with engineering, maintenance, and project teams, the role ensures projects are planned safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and asset management requirements. The position plays a key role in driving asset reliability, continuous improvement, and the long-term sustainability of factory operations through effective planning, SAP maintenance management, and stakeholder collaboration.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, and resource requirements for capital projects to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Maintain SAP master data, including equipment records, maintenance plans, task lists, and bills of materials to support asset reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, inventory, and project teams to coordinate capital project delivery and improve operational performance.
- Support the development and implementation of capital programs, ensuring compliance with approved governance, standards, and asset management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing project outcomes, identifying efficiencies, and supporting long-term asset sustainability.
About you
Essential
- You have experience planning and coordinating maintenance, operational, or capital works within a heavy industrial environment and are confident working with CMMS platforms, ideally SAP. You are a highly organised planner with strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of developing detailed schedules, managing competing priorities, and driving continuous improvement to support safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.
Desirable
- Experience working within the sugar, manufacturing, mining, or other heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, particularly Plant Maintenance (PM), Project Systems (PS), and Investment Management (IM) modules.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and disciplines.
- A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify efficiencies and enhance planning and project delivery processes.
