This is a specialised role offering diverse responsibilities and exposure across the organisation, with close connection to senior leadership. The role provides an opportunity to build experience across technology, data analytics, project management, business improvement and corporate functions.

A little bit about the role

The Business and Policy Analyst will play a key role in supporting parking technology, innovation and continuous improvement, including analysing data, monitoring performance and providing insights to inform operational strategy and service improvements. A parking technology roadmap is being progressed, and this role will be a key contributor delivering it alongside the Business and Policy Lead and Manager Civic Services.

The role also includes ongoing administrative responsibilities, including producing insightful reporting and metrics, supporting contract management and vendor meetings, procurement and invoice management, and maintaining strong business records.

Exciting projects and business improvement opportunities will also be assigned as capacity permits. This provides variety and ensures the role continues to evolve and grow.

Reporting to the Business and Policy Lead, key aspects of the role include~

  • Leading innovation across parking technology, including market research, consultation and refining approaches with Parking Services leadership.
  • Analysing large datasets and producing insights on parking operations to inform strategic approaches and future service models.
  • Providing data and recommendations that inform strategic decisions and have a tangible impact on the regulatory services delivered to the community.
  • Supporting leadership with parking contract management, enhancement and maintenance.
  • Providing direct support to the Business and Policy Lead through the coordination and delivery of delegated priorities as they arise.
  • Providing first-class customer service to internal and external stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Providing project management support for key departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing invoicing, including raising purchase orders, receipting goods and maintaining accurate financial records for the Coordinator.
  • Providing advocacy and quality assurance across Civic Services on key legislative and auditing functions.

  • Expertise in project management, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes to support front-line teams that are servicing the community.
  • A fun and energetic approach to work that’s outgoing and engaging.
  • Natural ability to manage personal time, to set priorities and plan and organise own work to efficiently complete tasks or achieve objectives within agreed time frames.
  • Excellent records management and Microsoft Office skills experience, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability in writing accurate and comprehensive reports and correspondence.
  • A sound knowledge or ability to gain the knowledge of relevant Regulations and Council policies.
  • Relevant experience in a complex customer service/administrative environment both in person and over the phone, including proficiency in financial administration, preferably in local government or other statutory based environments.
