About The Position
This position provides engineering support across the Infrastructure Services department with a focus on engineering investigations, roads in compliance with MRWA guidelines to regional road network and asset management, capital works, and asset creation proposals, including funding applications.
The role will also assist with civil design, drafting and estimating, and sustainability and environment initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical and engineering support to the Infrastructure Services department, under the general guidance of the Principal Engineer and Coordinator Design.
- Assist in the assessment of town planning and building applications (including structure plans, subdivisions, stormwater management plans and strategies, and road use assessments), preparing draft comments and conditions notes on behalf of Infrastructure Services Department to be reviewed by an Engineering Officer.
- Process development engineering applications (including crossover installations, bond administration and compliance matters) in accordance with the relevant legal provisions and the City’s Land Development Specifications, developing knowledge of the approvals process.
- Undertake site inspections and engineering investigations in response to requests, complaints and queries on Infrastructure Services related matters, and prepare accurate records, reports and recommendations.

Position Requirements
The successful applicant will ideally hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or Design or progressing towards a Degree. Applicants with significant experience in the design and preparation of civil drawings in 12D and/or AutoCAD including project cost estimating will also be considered.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration And Benefits
This position offers a salary starting from $92,692 per annum, commensurate with the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
