Major Contractor Business Development Manager

Schneider Electric is looking for a Major Contractor Business Development Manager to drive growth across major electrical contractor accounts in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
You’ll build strategic relationships with key contractors, identify and develop major project opportunities, and position full Schneider Electric portfolio from early engagement through to project award and specialize in Power distribution (Medium Voltage, Low Voltage) offers
Working closely with other Account Managers, Product Specialists and Sales teams, you’ll influence specifications, shape commercial strategies and help position Schneider Electric solutions across major infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute Account strategies & growth plans across major electrical contractor accounts.
- Build strong relationships with estimators, project managers, procurement teams, engineers and key decision-makers.
- Identify, qualify and convert project opportunities from early engagement through to project award.
- Position Schneider Electric’ full portfolio across customer projects.
- Provide commercial and technical guidance on Power distribution LV & MV offers throughout complex sales cycles.
- Collaborate with internal Sales and Product teams to develop winning project strategies.
- Participate in tenders, commercial discussions and contract negotiations.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast through CRM.
- Monitor customer needs, market activity and competitors to identify new opportunities.
What Will Help You Succeed
- 5+ years’ experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Project Sales or Strategic Account Management within the electrical, industrial, energy or related sector.
- Previous commercial experience managing customers and opportunities across South Australia and/or the Northern Territory.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, power distribution or energy management solutions.
- Experience developing and converting project-based sales opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex sales cycles.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Experience working with major electrical contractors, consultants, EPCs or infrastructure customers would be highly regarded.
An Electrical Trade qualification or Electrical Engineering degree, together with knowledge of Medium and Low Voltage solutions, tendering and construction procurement, would also be advantageous.
