Manual Tester – Job Description

Role Overview

A Manual Tester is responsible for validating software quality by executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring applications meet functional, usability, and performance requirements. The role focuses on hands on testing across web, mobile, and enterprise systems to ensure a reliable user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning — Review requirements, define test scenarios, and prepare detailed test cases.
• Functional Testing — Execute manual tests to verify features, workflows, and business rules.
• Defect Identification — Log defects with clear steps, screenshots, and severity classification.
• Regression Testing — Re test impacted areas after fixes to ensure stability.
• User Acceptance Support — Assist business users during UAT cycles and validate end to end flows.
• Documentation — Maintain test case repositories, test results, and defect reports.
• Collaboration — Work closely with developers, BAs, and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
