About The Role

The Procurement Officer plays an important support role within Council's Procurement team, assisting with the delivery of best practice procurement and tendering activities across the organisation.

Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, you will provide procurement administration, systems support and customer assistance in accordance with Council's Procurement Policy, Procurement Procedure and associated guidelines. You will assist with the administration of Council's procurement and contract management systems, support tendering activities, maintain procurement records and contribute to procurement compliance reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing administrative and operational support across procurement, tendering and contract management activities.
  • Administration of Council's Procurement and Contract Management System (PCMS) and online tendering platforms.
  • Monitoring and managing procurement workflows, inboxes and planning activities.
  • Providing first-level support and guidance to internal system users.
  • Assisting with procurement documentation, contract administration and compliance reporting.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes and service delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in administration, procurement support, contract administration or a similar office-based environment.

  • Experience using business systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation.
  • Experience in procurement, local government, contract administration or a finance-related environment will be highly regarded.
