Azooa is preparing a response for a Department of Defence opportunity and is seeking an experienced Project Support Officer (PSO) to support the Land Command, Control, Communications and Computing (LC4) Program within Army Headquarters.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Location: Russell Offices, Canberra, ACT

Term: 1 January to 31 December 2027

Extensions: Up to three further 12-month periods may be available at Defence’s discretion

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Clearance: Minimum Australian Government NV1 before commencement and throughout the engagement. The contractor must be capable of obtaining and maintaining NV2 if Defence later requires it.

Workplace: Based at Russell Offices. Flexible working arrangements may be considered after contract award, subject to operational and security requirements; they are not guaranteed.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The LC4 Program plans, develops and delivers land command, control, communications and computing capabilities for the Australian Army and broader Joint Force. It supports modernisation of the Land Network and works across multiple capability streams through an integrated, multi-tranche delivery approach.

The PSO will join an Army Headquarters delivery team and work with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, Integration Specialists, Program Assurance staff and other Defence stakeholders. The role operates under the direction of SO1 LC4 Program Delivery. Its focus is project coordination, governance support, reporting and information management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide day-to-day project support and coordinate activities, milestones, schedules and information flows.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, registers, briefing material and governance artefacts.

• Arrange meetings, workshops, boards and working groups; prepare agendas and minutes and track actions.

• Track and report risks, issues, actions, decisions and dependencies.

• Gather stakeholder inputs and consolidate information for governance and decision-making.

• Prepare reports, briefs, presentations and governance papers.

• Maintain project records and support document control, configuration management and information management using approved Defence systems.

• Support audits, reviews and assurance activities.

• Liaise with ADF, APS, contracted personnel, delivery partners and industry stakeholders.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of LC4 governance and project support processes.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Demonstrated experience in project support, project coordination or program administration in a structured delivery environment.

• Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation, registers and reporting artefacts.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to engage effectively with ADF, APS and Defence industry stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and information management systems.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

• NV1 security clearance held before commencement and maintained for the engagement.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Defence or comparable Commonwealth capability management experience.

• Familiarity with the Capability Realisation Framework, Defence governance processes or the capability lifecycle.

• Support for multi-project or program delivery environments.

• Project management, business administration or related training or qualifications.

• Experience with Defence records and information management systems.

• Exposure to command, control, communications or information system capability projects.
