This is a unique opportunity for an Analyst to join the Private Tax and Advisory team in Hobart, with a strong focus on corporate tax.
What will your typical day look like?
As a Private Tax & Advisory Analyst in our Hobart team, you will support talented Managers, Directors and Partners who advise private groups and corporate clients across a broad range of industries. Your client portfolio may include growing businesses, established corporate groups, significant privately owned enterprises and government-owned businesses. You will gain practical experience across tax effect accounting, tax advisory and tax compliance, including the following services:
- Preparing and reviewing income tax returns, tax calculations and other corporate tax compliance obligations
- Assisting with current and deferred tax calculations, tax provisions and tax effect accounting disclosures
- Supporting tax advisory engagements, including corporate restructures, transactions and the application of Australian income tax law
- Assisting with international tax matters, including cross-border transactions and the Australian tax implications of international business activities
- Undertaking tax research and preparing clear advice, technical memoranda and client correspondence
- Assisting clients with ATO engagement, tax governance and risk management matters
- Building trusted client relationships and delivering practical, high-quality client service
- Collaborating with senior team members and specialists across Deloitte to deliver integrated advice

Our Hobart team provides corporate tax compliance, tax effect accounting and tax advisory services, drawing on Deloitte’s broader specialist network where required. Enough About Us, Let’s Talk About You.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A relevant degree in accounting, commerce, law, economics or a related discipline, together with progress towards, or an intention to pursue, either the CA qualification or a Master of Taxation
- One to three years of relevant tax experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm, law firm, corporate tax team or accounting environment
- A sound foundation in Australian corporate taxation and accounting, with tax effect accounting experience viewed favourably
- Strong analytical, research and written communication skills, with close attention to detail
- A collaborative approach, a commitment to learning and the ability to manage competing priorities
