We are a global recruitment agency looking for an experienced Business Development Manager for one of our clients, a leading distributor of security and communication technology across Australia and New Zealand.
This is an opportunity for an experienced security-industry professional to take ownership of business development across Western Australia, growing existing relationships while actively building new business across the region.
We are looking for someone who already knows the WA security market. You may already have relationships with installers, consultants, builders, specifiers, integrators, or other key industry stakeholders and understand how business gets done within the local market.
Importantly, this role also offers long-term leadership potential as the Western Australian operation continues to grow.

Wha You'll Be Doing
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across Western Australia
- Build and strengthen relationships with consultants, builders, specifiers, designers, installers, integrators, and other industry stakeholders
- Proactively develop your own pipeline while working with existing accounts and opportunities within the company’s CRM
- Grow existing customer relationships and identify opportunities to expand the company’s footprint
- Build and execute a regional business development plan against individual revenue targets
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to prospective and existing customers
- Work with enterprise-level security solutions and complex system designs
- Recommend appropriate products and solutions based on project requirements
- Manage opportunities from initial prospecting through to close and ongoing account development
- Maintain an accurate pipeline, forecast, and overview of opportunities across the region
- Work closely with the wider sales and technical teams across Australia
- As the WA operation grows, demonstrate the potential to take on greater leadership responsibility within the branch
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the Australian security industry
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian security market
- Proven experience in business development, technical sales, or solution-based selling
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build your own pipeline
- An established professional network within the security industry
- Experience working with indirect sales models and complex B2B sales cycles
- Working knowledge of IP-based technologies, networking, and security hardware/software
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage opportunities from prospecting through to close
- Full working rights in Australia
- Comfortable working full-time from the Perth office
Highly regarded
- An established network of contacts within the WA security industry
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or team management experience
- Electrical engineering, engineering, or another relevant technical background
- Experience selling CCTV, access control, intercom, networking, or related security technologies
- Experience managing enterprise or high-value accounts
