Freedom of Information Clerk (Casual)

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for multiple Freedom of Information (FOI) professionals to join our Records and Information Services team. In these roles, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of FOI requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic), OVIC guidelines, and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process Freedom of Information (FOI) requests accurately and within statutory timeframes.
• Assist with the processing of legal requests for information and records from police, courts and tribunals, DFFH and AHPRA.
• Work collaboratively and efficiently with other FOI team members and relevant stakeholders to maintain and support overall FOI management within the unit.
• Contribute to a robust, accurate and comprehensive file management, reporting and record keeping for the overall FOI Services.
• Where appropriate assist with investigating complaints and queries regarding FOI Requests and inquiries from OVIC, the HCC and internal channels.

About you

• Experience in a public health records related role.
• Attention to detail in records management.
• Strong communication skills with a strong customer focus.
• Demonstrated ability, or ability to rapidly learn hospital computer systems and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
