FINANCE OFFICER - LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROFESSIONALS AUSTRALIA, NSW - MASCOT, NSW

About The Role

Join a purpose-driven association and play a key role in supporting our financial operations. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will manage financial administration, process transactions, support payroll and compliance activities, and assist with reporting and reconciliations. This hands-on part-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys delivering accurate work, building strong relationships, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll administration.
• Financial reconciliations, reporting and month-end support.
• Maintaining accurate finance systems and records.
• Supporting audits, compliance and statutory reporting.
• Delivering responsive finance support across the organisation.

About You

• Qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a finance, accounts, payroll or bookkeeping role.
• Strong understanding of financial administration, accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes.
• Experience using accounting software (Xero preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with financial data and meet deadlines.
• Well-developed communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.

Desirable

• Experience in a not-for-profit, association, membership-based or public sector environment.
