NT Health is recruiting three rotating Public Health Medicine Registrars across specialist public health teams in Darwin.
The opportunities are located within the Public Health Division, Centre for Disease Control and National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre. Each position provides advanced public health medicine experience and supports Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine training, while offering exposure to a different area of public health practice.
Applicants may nominate one, two or all three positions for consideration and identify their preference order as part of their application.
The opportunities
Public Health Division, Office of the Chief Health Officer
Work across areas including non-communicable disease, chronic disease and injury prevention, cancer screening, environmental health and health statistics and informatics. The role provides opportunities to contribute to public health research, policy, programs and the monitoring and management of non-communicable disease issues.
Centre for Disease Control
Develop experience across clinical and population public health including outbreak investigation and management, emergency and disaster response, public health projects, policy and programs, health messaging and teaching.
National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre
Work within the NCCTRC Public Health Directorate and contribute to public health capability across NCCTRC and the Australian Medical Assistance Team. The role provides exposure to outbreak and incident response, emergency and disaster management, operational research and the integration of public health into emergency response activity.
What you will bring
You will be a medical practitioner eligible for general or conditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia and an advanced trainee of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine, or have qualifications and experience suitable for acceptance as an advanced trainee.
You will bring relevant public health experience together with strong communication, organisational and analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with health professionals and people from diverse backgrounds.
