As Category Manager – Construction, you’ll help shape how KFC continues to grow and invest in our restaurant network across Australia. Working across new restaurant development and remodels, you’ll use commercial insight, market expertise and strong supplier partnerships to reduce costs, improve value and support smarter investment decisions.

With significant construction investment across our network, this is an opportunity to make an impact at scale – partnering with Development, Supply Chain, Finance, Franchisees and suppliers to turn procurement opportunities into measurable outcomes.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Own the category – develop and deliver procurement strategies across construction, fit-out, professional services and development-related categories.
• Lead the commercial conversation – manage complex sourcing, tenders and negotiations, bringing commercial rigour and market insight to supplier decisions.
• Make our investment go further – identify opportunities to leverage network scale, challenge costs and reduce construction capital expenditure.
• Influence decisions earlier – bring procurement and market insight into design, specification and project decisions to unlock greater value.
• Build partnerships that perform – strengthen supplier relationships and drive performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Turn opportunity into outcomes – maintain visibility of procurement initiatives and help deliver and validate measurable commercial benefits.
• Connect the dots – partner across Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Franchisees and suppliers to bring category strategies and commercial initiatives to life.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You’re a commercially minded procurement, category or strategic sourcing professional who knows how to find value, challenge the status quo and bring stakeholders with you.

• Significant experience across procurement, category management or strategic sourcing.
• Strong commercial and negotiation capability, including leading complex sourcing activities, tenders and supplier negotiations.
• Experience developing category strategies and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
• Strong supplier and contract management capability, with a focus on performance and continuous improvement.
• Commercial and analytical thinking, with the confidence to challenge cost, specifications and existing ways of working.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across complex internal and external relationships.
• Experience leading people, projects or significant workstreams.
• Experience in construction, property, development, facilities or capital projects would be highly regarded, as would exposure to franchise or multi-site environments.
