Youth Justice Case Manager - Geelong

Youth Justice are currently recruiting a fixed term, full time Case Manager based in Geelong. Case Managers supervise and provide support to young people subject to Youth Justice Court orders. You will prepare Court and Youth Parole Board reports and attend court for client matters. You will also provide assessments, develop case plans/reports and advocate for the provision of support services., The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, nationally coordinated criminal history checks (NCCHC), and misconduct screening. Dependant on the role, other checks may include VicRoads checks, drivers licence checks, medical checks, Working with Children Checks, and Declaration of Private Interests (for executive and responsible officer roles).

The Youth Justice Team provides community-based supervision and a range of case management and support services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court, Children's Koori Court, and adult criminal courts and who have been placed on youth justice supervised orders. About The Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A passion for contributing to the rehabilitation of young people in the justice system
• understanding of the youth justice system, relevant legislation, associated policies and guidelines
• knowledge of the principles of case management with the ability to utilise a range of assessments and interventions relevant to the background and needs of the young person
• empathy and cultural awareness including an appreciation of different cultures
• confidence in managing stakeholders, negotiating effectively to develop and implement solutions., * A Bachelor degree or diploma in a relevant field is highly desirable (e.g. social work, psychology, criminal justice, community services, youth work).
• A full driver's licence is required due to the need to respond to emergencies across the state at short notice and outside business hours as required.
• A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
