Senior Social Content Executive

Think HQ

We’re looking for a Senior Social Content Executive / Social Content Specialist with around 2–3 years’ experience who knows how to turn an idea into content that works.

You’ll be comfortable creating for different audiences and platforms, with hands-on experience across WeChat and RedNote as well as Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok.

About the role

The Senior Social Content Executive / Social Content Specialist is a hands-on role within our PR and Strategic Communications team, supporting the planning, creation and delivery of social and digital campaigns.

You’ll work across owned, earned and paid channels, developing content that helps our clients reach the right audiences, build engagement and strengthen their presence across different platforms.

Day to day, you’ll manage social content calendars, draft and adapt copy, support client and internal workflows, and track campaign and content performance.

A strong understanding of the Chinese social media landscape is important, particularly WeChat and RedNote, alongside confidence working across Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok.

Some of the key responsibilities include

Integrated Social Content & Platform Execution (Owned)

  • Draft clear, audience-focused copy for owned social channels (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, WeChat, RedNote) and supporting digital platforms (blogs, email newsletters).
  • Assist in maintaining master content calendars, balancing structured brand narratives with real-time, culturally relevant rapid responses.
  • Create visual assets and short-form video clips (e.g., Stories, Reels, TikToks) using tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Schedule and publish approved content via social management platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social), ensuring accurate formatting.

Influencer Engagement & Creator Logistics (Earned)

  • Assist with creator identification, vetting, and building talent shortlists aligned with campaign values and briefs across mainstream and Chinese platform creators
  • Coordinate creator logistics, including dispatching campaign briefs, tracking deliverables, managing timelines, and shipping gifting/products.
  • Review incoming influencer drafts to ensure key messaging accuracy and compliance with Australian advertising regulations (AANA Code of Ethics and Ad Standards) and platform-specific regulations.
  • Maintain positive, reciprocal relationships with talent, content creators, and talent agencies.

Paid Media Coordination & Support (Paid)

  • Support the Social Media Manager with paid campaign setups, including preparing ad copy variations, gathering creative assets, and organising ad specs.
  • Generate tracking links (UTMs) and verify accurate link formatting across ad campaigns.
  • Assist with basic campaign setup checks within Business Managers (Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Monitor live paid campaigns for link errors, display glitches, or delivery issues.

Community-Building & Active Engagement

  • Perform day-to-day community management by responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions in an empathetic, on-brand voice.
  • Proactively join digital conversations to cultivate safe, welcoming, and inclusive online communities.
  • Follow established escalation protocols to flag high-risk comments, negative sentiment, or potential PR risks to senior leaders immediately, including back-translating flagged Chinese-language comments into clear English to facilitate prompt internal review and risk management.

Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Track channel metrics using native tools and reporting platforms.
  • Compile data for regular performance reports, summarising engagement, reach, top-performing content, and audience insights.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of measurement mechanisms, attribution models, and reporting limitations across both mainstream and Chinese social platforms.

Quality Control & Accessibility

  • Champion digital accessibility on social media, applying closed captions, alt-text, and readable formatting adhering to WCAG guidelines.
  • Proofread all digital assets prior to publishing for immaculate grammar, tone, and formatting in English and Chinese.
  • Back-translate Chinese content copy into English for internal team and client review when required to ensure message accuracy and brand alignment prior to publication.

About you

You won’t need to know everything from day one, and there’s plenty of room to keep building your skills in the role.

What we do need is a strong grounding in social content and real familiarity with the Chinese social media landscape, particularly WeChat and RedNote. You should already understand how these platforms work, how people use them and how content needs to be adapted for them.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in social media, digital content or agency coordination.
  • Strong working knowledge of mainstream social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Hands-on experience with Chinese social platforms, particularly WeChat and RedNote.
  • Experience working in an agency environment.
  • Confidence explaining specialised social platforms to clients, including how they work, how audiences behave and what good practice looks like.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including content creators, designers and marketing teams.
