Title: Product Marketing Lead
Location: Melbourne, Australia
About Uptick
Uptick is redefining how fire and security businesses operate. We're a fast-scaling B2B SaaS company building powerful, intuitive software that transforms complex, paper-heavy workflows into seamless digital experiences, with a mission to keep 100,000,000 people safer where they live, work and play. Backed by global growth equity leader PSG, we've rapidly become the category leader in Australia and are scaling internationally across the UK, Europe, the US, and beyond.
The Role
Uptick is hiring for our first product marketer, to be based shoulder to shoulder with our product team in Melbourne while powering growth globally. As our first product marketer, you’ll lead the charge on our product’s go-to-market motion, operating as a commercial voice in our build and marketing teams. You’ll influence every part of GTM: from collaborating on in-product discovery and set up flows to sales enablement and customer adoption campaigns.
Responsibilities & Skills Needed
- Own positioning and messaging: Turn complex product capabilities into clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with customers and prospects across markets.
- Lead GTM: Build and execute the go-to-market strategy for major products, features and releases, from audience and positioning through launch, enablement, adoption and measurement.
- Drive adoption: Devise in-product flows, content, enablement and campaigns that help customers discover, understand and use more of Uptick.
- Build market intelligence: Develop a deep understanding of our customers, competitors and markets, and turn that insight into recommendations for Product, Marketing, Sales and Success.
- Build what GTM needs: Create messaging, email campaigns, launch plans, enablement, product collateral and other GTM assets yourself, bringing in specialist collaborators for capabilities such as motion and animation.
- Enable our teams: Equip Sales, Success, Onboarding and Support with the messaging, knowledge and tools they need to sell, onboard and grow customers effectively.
- Measure and improve: Define how we measure the success of launches and adoption initiatives, learn from performance and continuously improve our GTM motion.
- Work across the business: Operate across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Success, Sales, Onboarding and Support to make GTM work end to end.
About you
- You have strong product marketing experience in complex B2B software. Experience in regulated or compliance-driven industries is a significant advantage.
- Customer driven, competitor informed and product literate: You get deep into the product and the problems it solves, finding the golden narrative thread that makes it resonate.
- Commercially minded: You understand how product marketing connects product decisions, customer behaviour and revenue, and prioritise the work that will have the greatest impact.
- Proven at driving adoption: You can show where your product marketing initiatives and campaigns have increased product discovery, adoption, usage or retention.
- Proven at launching products: You have led impactful launches internally, to customers and prospects, and to the wider market.
- Production minded: You build. Messaging, email campaigns, launch plans, enablement decks, product collateral, battlecards, animation storyboards — whatever you know the product needs to succeed.
- Experienced across markets: You’ve taken complex B2B software into multiple international markets and can show how you’ve adapted positioning, messaging and GTM for different customer and market contexts.
- Comfortable building from scratch: You can bring structure where it’s useful without needing an established product marketing playbook, team or process around you.
What success looks like in 90 and 180 days
We embrace the variability that exists in the product marketing role. It’s likely your first 3-6 months will be spent on:
- Determining new business versus customer upsell launch processes, with documented processes that evolve rather than go stale
- Bringing new AI products to our all-in-one platform, launching this new capability and driving adoption
- Spotting opportunities for in-product distribution and championing these through to build and release, e.g. set up flows, nudges, lifecycle campaigns
- Supporting new business growth with sales enablement including top quality demo videos, product showcases, competitor battlecards and product-driven thought leadership content
