About Our Client
A Highly respected building construction organisation based in Port Melbourne, operating across both the commercial building and residential markets in the construction industry.
Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and scope to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop budgets and schedules.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for project costing.
- Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare tender submissions and support bid processes.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and project documentation.
- Be proactive, commercially aware and enjoy building relationships - identifying opportunities. This role wont see you glued to your desk and screen waiting for work to be priced, but will allow you to be out meeting architects and key stakeholders to influence decisions.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Estimator should have:
- Extensive experience in construction cost estimation within the commercial and/or residential building construction market.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market rates.
- Proficiency in relevant estimation software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for working with diverse teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
