Large Hospitality Venue - Commercially Focused Role

With three venues across Western Sydney, including one positioned right next to the new Western Sydney International Airport we are positioned for growth. We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team and partner with the operation to drive commercial performance.

Reporting to the CFO this brand new hands-on role will focus on turning financial data into meaningful insights and help leaders understand what’s happening, why it’s happening and what we can do about it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CFO to drive performance, enable strategic decision making, and support the implementation of robust processes and practices
  • Analyse budgets, forecasts, revenue, costs and variances
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning
  • Develop accurate data reporting and dashboards to monitor and manage KPIs (both financial and non-financial)
  • Perform variance analysis against budget/forecast
  • Preparation of consolidated monthly financial and management reports
  • Conduct margin analysis, cost reviews, and profitability reporting
  • Manage inventory accounting and reporting
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve profitability

About You

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting capability with genuine commercial curiosity.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • CPA/CA qualification or working towards qualification highly regarded
  • Previous Management Accounting experience
  • Experience in hospitality, clubs, gaming, hotels, restaurants or retail highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow principles
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting capability
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to identify trends, anomalies and commercial opportunities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
