Our client, the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is responsible for protecting the community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies. Employing approximately 1,300 operational and corporate professionals, the MFS currently operates 37 fire stations, including 20 across metropolitan Adelaide and 17 in regional areas across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North, Far North and Eyre Peninsula, Riverland and Limestone Coast.

The exciting new role of Assistant Director, People and Culture has been created to strengthen the organisation’s focus on all matters to do with the leadership of People and Culture across the whole business and with a strong strategic and senior operational specialisation.

We are seeking a proven professional with an outstanding track record in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, performance appraisal and development, workforce planning, industrial relations, employee entitlements and Return to Work.

The appointee will possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills in speech and writing and will have a proactive, inquisitive and innovative approach toward ensuring that the organisation’s culture remains positive, inclusive, performance-directed and safe through ensuring the minimisation of psychosocial hazards and the optimisation of providing all employees with the opportunity to realise their full potential.
