Building Certifier

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Building Certifier to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing building plans, documentation and construction work to ensure compliance with relevant building legislation, codes and standards. You will work closely with clients, builders, designers, architects and other consultants to provide practical, timely and high-quality certification services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess building plans, specifications and documentation for compliance with applicable legislation, codes and standards.
• Undertake building inspections at various stages of construction.
• Issue building approvals, permits, certificates and other relevant documentation.
• Provide clear and practical advice to clients, builders, designers and other stakeholders.
• Identify and communicate compliance issues and work with our team to resolve them.
• Maintain accurate certification and inspection records.
• Ensure all certification work is completed professionally, accurately and within required timeframes.
• Keep up to date with changes to legislation, regulations, codes and industry requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.

About You

• Experienced in building certification and assessment.
• Thorough, organised and highly detail-oriented.
• Confident interpreting plans, specifications, legislation and building codes.
• A strong communicator who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Professional, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Relevant qualifications in building surveying, building certification or a related discipline.
• Appropriate building certifier registration/licensing for the relevant jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience in building certification, surveying or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant building legislation and standards.
