About the role
Lumus Imaging are hiring for a Medical Receptionist to join our team at Mayo Private Hospital in Taree. This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working 3-4 days per week (7.5 hours per day) across multiple clinic locations in Taree and Forster. Travel between sites will be required to provide reception support and cover where needed.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will play an essential role in the experience our patients have when they visit our clinics for medical imaging appointments. You will be responsible for providing reception and administrative support and acting as the first point of contact for patients, referrers and medical practitioners.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills and is comfortable using technology and learning new systems.
No previous medical reception experience is required, as full onsite training will be provided. Whether you're looking to start a career in healthcare administration or bring your customer service experience into a healthcare setting, we'd love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and providing a professional and compassionate first impression
- Managing patient bookings, referrals, and enquiries (in person and via phone)
- Accurate data entry and maintenance of patient records
- Processing Medicare, billing, and payment transactions
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic
About you
- Experience in a healthcare or medical reception/admin role is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Confidence using computers and administrative systems
- A team-focused attitude with a genuine commitment to patient care
