Job Details
Yolk Digital is looking for a ServiceNow Developer to deliver hands-on technical development across its ServiceNow platform in support of critical digital and service delivery outcomes. You'll design, build, enhance and support solutions across one or more ServiceNow products, including IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) and Customer Service Management (CSM).
Working within an agile delivery team, you'll contribute across the full development lifecycle: requirements refinement, solution design, build, testing, deployment and post-implementation support. You'll partner closely with product owners, business analysts, user researchers, service designers, architects and operational teams to turn business requirements into secure, reliable and scalable working solutions.
You'll also contribute to platform maintenance, including upgrades, defect resolution, performance optimisation and technical documentation, and you'll be expected to operate with a high degree of independence and technical proficiency to meet delivery timeframes and quality standards in a complex government environment.
Location
ACT. Hybrid. The role is performed from the CBD n Canberra with a combination of onsite attendance and remote working.
Duration
9 months, commencing 5 October 2026 (initial term to 30 June 2027), with 1 x 12 month extension option.
Clearance
NV1. You must hold an active Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform coding (JavaScript) and configuration (Flow Designer, UI Builder, Business Rules) on the ServiceNow platform
- Collaborate with business analysts, user researchers and service designers to understand business requirements and translate them into final working solutions
- Enhance existing ServiceNow applications and modules
- Work in accordance with agile principles and practices, including participation in agile ceremonies
- Document all technical designs, specifications and knowledge transfer materials
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to develop best practices for ServiceNow development
- Stay on top of new ServiceNow features and functionalities and incorporate them into the development process
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform by providing recommendations for process and system enhancements
Skills & Experience
- Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification
- Hands-on ServiceNow development, covering configuration and custom development within enterprise ServiceNow environments
- The full ServiceNow development lifecycle, from requirements refinement and solution design through build, testing, deployment and post-implementation support
- ServiceNow scripting and development technologies, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer and UI Builder
- Integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST APIs, web services and authentication mechanisms
- Delivery across ServiceNow products including ITSM, HRSD and CSM
- Platform maintenance, including upgrades, defect resolution, performance optimisation and technical documentation
- Agile delivery, including participation in agile ceremonies
- Working in environments with strong governance, change management and security requirements
Essential Criteria
Technical capability
- Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification
- Demonstrated, strong hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer delivering configuration and custom development within enterprise ServiceNow environments
- Proven experience across the full ServiceNow development lifecycle, including requirements refinement, solution design, build, testing, deployment and post-implementation support
- Strong skills in ServiceNow scripting and development technologies, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies and Flow Designer
- Demonstrated experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST APIs, web services and authentication mechanisms
Professional capability
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement sustainable solutions
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
8. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities and meet delivery timeframes in a fast-paced environment
9. Experience working in environments with strong governance, change management and security requirements
Desirable Criteria
- ServiceNow Product Certifications in one or more of ITSM, HRSD and CSM
- Experience delivering solutions across ITSM, HRSD and/or CSM within medium to large organisations
- Experience supporting platform maintenance activities, including upgrades, patching, defect resolution, monitoring and performance optimisation
- Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks and their practical application within ServiceNow
- Experience working within Australian Government, regulated or security-sensitive ICT environments
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments
