An exciting opportunity exists for an Accountant to join a well-established accounting firm located in Adelaide's north-eastern suburbs. With over 30 years of success, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering professional accounting and taxation services to small and medium-sized businesses across a broad range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing financial statements for small and medium-sized businesses across all entity types
  • Preparing and lodging income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs (where applicable)
  • Reconciling Xero files and performing general bookkeeping duties
  • Preparing and lodging quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Assisting clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation queries
  • Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
  • Maintaining accurate client records and assisting with general practice administration as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in Business Services or Tax Accounting
  • This is a client-facing role, so we're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, communicating with clients, and providing exceptional service — not just preparing accounts behind the scenes
  • Previous experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns across multiple entity types
  • Experience using Xero Practice Manager and Xero Ledger
  • Experience preparing or assisting with Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs) using BGL will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional approach
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service

The Opportunity

  • Salary package of $75,000–$90,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
  • Based primarily at the Modbury office, with 1–2 days per week worked from the Prospect office
