The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our passionate and dedicated Mobile Library Team.

Port Stephens Libraries are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual with a commitment to providing a quality Mobile Library service including driving and operating the Mobile Library vehicle (noting this role requires a Heavy Combination (HC) licence), and using excellent customer service, communication and technology skills to deliver a high-level service to our community.

This role isn’t your regular Library Services role. It will see you safely and effectively driving our Mobile Library Truck (semi-articulated vehicle), while also delivering library services and programs at 12 different locations on a fortnightly timetable.

While safe operation of the truck is a must, you will also need customer service experience and computer literacy skills, as you will be assisting members of the community on a regular basis.

  • This is a permanent full-time opportunity, working 35 hours / week on a roster basis + access to a flexible working arrangement
  • Working hours: You will work Monday through Thursday, with rosters starting between 8am and 9am and finishing between 5pm and 7pm with a half-day (8:30am – 12:30pm) on alternate Saturdays.
  • Base Salary Range: $70,332 - $77,597 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,562 retention allowance
  • You will be working from PSC Library, Raymond Terrace

  • Demonstrated safe and effective operation of a prime mover and trailer, with a current Heavy Combination (HC) licence
  • Demonstrated experience in a library or other customer experience environment
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
