Ocean Infinity is seeking a Finance Manager (APAC) to lead and develop the finance function across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region. Acting as a trusted business partner to regional leadership and Group Finance, you will provide financial insight, maintain strong controls, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making across a growing and dynamic business.

This is a broad, hands-on role spanning financial reporting, compliance, treasury, project accounting, business partnering, and systems transformation. You will play a key role in scaling the APAC finance function while supporting operational and commercial teams with accurate, decision-useful financial information.

This role requires 3 days a week in our Hobart, AU office. There may be the need for some travel to Southampton, UK during onboarding.

What Will You Do

  • Lead month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, fixed assets, and general ledger integrity.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, variance analysis, and reporting packs for APAC leadership and Group Finance.
  • Support group consolidation reporting, including intercompany reconciliations and IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met with a strong focus on accuracy, control, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain and improve financial controls, governance, and standardised finance processes across the region.
  • Manage statutory, tax, payroll, and regulatory compliance across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Coordinate external audits, statutory accounts, tax filings, and advisor relationships.
  • Own cashflow forecasting, working capital management, banking relationships, and payment controls.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reviews.
  • Support project bids and commercial activities through financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Manage project financial reporting, including revenue recognition, WIP, cost-to-complete, and margin tracking.
  • Maintain project and cost centre reporting structures to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead APAC finance activities supporting the NetSuite implementation and wider finance transformation initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable ways of working across the finance function.
  • Build strong relationships with regional stakeholders, Group Finance, external advisors, and operational teams.
  • Support and develop junior finance resources as the team grows.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Qualified CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience leading finance activities including month-end close, reporting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and experience working within multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
  • Experience managing statutory compliance, tax, and payroll obligations in Australia, with exposure to New Zealand requirements desirable.
  • Strong project accounting and project financial reporting experience.
  • Proven cashflow forecasting, financial analysis, and business partnering capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting finance systems implementations, transformation programmes, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • High levels of ownership, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.

Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
