Estimator Required | Commercial Drylining, Partitions & Ceilings | Sydney's Inner South | $100K–$130K + Super DOE

The Company

Our client is a well-established commercial interiors subcontractor with over 20 years of success delivering premium commercial fit-out, refurbishment and demolition projects across New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT.

Specialising in drylining, partitioning, suspended ceilings, demolition and make-good works, they partner with many of Australia's leading Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, fit-out contractors and project management firms to deliver high-quality commercial interior packages. Their portfolio includes premium CBD office fitouts, corporate headquarters, workplace refurbishments, retail projects and education facilities.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued business growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their team.

The Role

Working closely with the estimating and project delivery teams, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a diverse range of commercial interior construction projects.

This role will focus primarily on drylining, partitioning and suspended ceiling packages, while also pricing associated demolition, strip-out and make-good works.

You'll play a key role from tender through to project handover, working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and construction drawings
• Review plans, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Develop competitive pricing strategies
• Prepare BOQs and detailed cost breakdowns
• Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Attend pre-tender meetings and site inspections where required
• Assist with tender handovers to the delivery team
• Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships

Scope of Works

The Successful Candidate Will Be Estimating Packages Including

• Metal stud framing
• Plasterboard partitions
• Fire-rated wall systems
• Acoustic wall systems
• Suspended grid ceilings
• Plasterboard ceilings
• Feature ceilings and bulkheads
• Internal glazing and aluminium partition systems
• Drylining systems
• Doors and hardware
• Insulation and acoustic treatments
• Commercial demolition and strip-outs
• General make-good works

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have previous estimating experience within the commercial interiors sector and possess a solid understanding of drylining systems.

Essential Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within commercial drylining, demolition or strip-out packages
• Strong knowledge of partitioning systems and suspended ceiling packages
• Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings
• Excellent commercial and analytical skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
• Australian construction industry experience
• CostX, Bluebeam, Cubit, Buildsoft or similar estimating software
• Existing supplier and subcontractor network within the Sydney market
