The role of Economic Development Officer is to advance the objectives outlined in Council's Economic Development Strategy and associated action plans.

Reporting to the Business and Economic Development Lead, this role will see you undertake research, analyse and interpret data to generate insights and trends which can be formulated across reports, brief and business cases.

This position focuses on supporting local businesses by identifying their needs, facilitating growth opportunities, and coordinating initiatives aimed at enhancing the Central Coast economy.

This position to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Applicant Profile

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a degree qualification in Business, Economics, Commerce, Project Management or other relevant field and/or extensive relevant and contemporary experience combined with ongoing professional development
  • a current Class C Drivers Licence
  • demonstrated experience in working with business and industry to facilitate business growth and development
  • demonstrated understanding of financial/ commercial levers and regulatory frameworks that are conductive to businesses being attracted to, and retained, within a region
  • strong research, analytical and data-interpretation skills, with the ability to generate insights from data and trends and present them in reports, briefs or business cases
  • proven relationship management, advocacy, influencing, negotiation skills, in particular working with government agencies and industry group and representatives

Offer Details

The commencing salary for this position is up to $100.5k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $116.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation

  • We have a permanent full-time role available
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
