We are seeking an innovative Teacher Librarian to lead our contemporary Learning Centre. In this role, you will shape dynamic learning spaces, champion student extension, integrate emerging technologies (including AI), and partner with staff to drive inquiry-based learning across Stages 4–6.

FTE: 1.0 FTE

  • hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • have full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)
  • comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment

Criteria

  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
  • provide evidence of qualifications in a specialised faculty
  • able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
  • Collaborative Teaching: Proven ability to co-design, teach, and evaluate Stage 4–6 NESA curriculum programs with classroom teachers, embedding information literacy and critical thinking
  • Innovation & AI: Strong passion for integrating AI into education, alongside expertise in digital tools (Oliver v5, Sora, ClickView), academic integrity, and responsible digital citizenship
  • Extension Leadership: Demonstrated capacity to mentor High Potential Learners through tailored extension, research coaching, and enrichment programs (Write a Book in a Day, da Vinci Decathlon, Debating)
  • This role will come with a 1 class face to face teaching load in an area to be determined

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Learning Centre: Manage flexible physical and digital library spaces to foster a vibrant culture of inquiry and reading.
  • Drive Academic Enrichment: Empower High Potential Learners with advanced research tools, problem-solving opportunities, and co-curricular academic competitions.
  • Curate & Manage Collections: Maintain print/digital resources aligned to NESA outcomes, mastering cataloguing, stocktaking, and copyright compliance.
  • Support Flexible Learning: Facilitate, supervise, and mentor online distance education students within the space.
