Parks and Open Spaces Labourer to join our vital and enthusiastic team maintaining and improving the region’s open spaces and recreational facilities.
As a Parks and Open Spaces Labourer, you will be an essential part of the team responsible for maintaining parks, gardens, reserves, and public amenities across Cook Shire. You’ll work in a supportive environment where safety, teamwork, and pride in your work are valued every day.

What you'll be doing
No two days are the same! You'll be:
- Undertaking general grounds maintenance including moving, bush cutting, weeding, pruning and planting.
- Maintaining playgrounds, sport fields, and other public spaces.
- Operating small plant and equipment such as tractors, mowers, blowers, chainsaws and whipper snippers.
- Assisting with streetscape maintenance, minor landscaping and development tasks.
- Performing inspections and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.
- Supporting a team that appreciates initiative, clear communication and a can-do attitude.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in parks and open spaces maintenance or related outdoor work.
- Ability to safely and competently operate relevant machinery and tools.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- A strong safety awareness.
- Physically fit and able to work in varying outdoor conditions.
- A current MR Class Driver's Licence (Mandatory).
- Construction White Card. (Mandatory).
- Chainsaw or Horticultural qualifications (Highly regarded).
