The Role

The ABC is seeking a Reporter to join the ABC North Coast team in Lismore. Working under the direction of the Editor, you'll create compelling content across multiple platforms, engage deeply with the local community and deliver stories that resonate with both local and national audiences. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished journalist who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is passionate about journalism.

The Job

• Research, develop and produce high-quality news content for digital, audio and video platforms.
• Present news bulletins, interviews, packages and breaking news coverage as required.
• Generate and deliver digital-first story ideas that drive audience reach and engagement.
• Build and maintain strong community networks to identify relevant and impactful stories.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the ABC to share content and contribute to broader news coverage.
• Support local emergency coverage and respond effectively to major news events.

About You

You're a passionate journalist who can identify, develop and deliver compelling stories across platforms.

You'll have:

• Demonstrated journalism experience.
• Strong reporting, research and interviewing capabilities, with proven editorial judgement.
• Experience in live presentation and broadcast, including breaking news environments.
• A current and valid driver's licence.
