About The Role
Reporting to the GM People & Culture, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for more than 1,000 employees across Australia. You'll partner closely with Finance, People & Culture and operational leaders to ensure payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time, while driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
This is a true business partnering role where you'll provide expert payroll advice, champion best practice and play a key role in delivering an outstanding employee experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the end-to-end processing of fortnightly and bi-monthly payrolls for 1,000+ employees
- Process new starters, terminations, salary changes, allowances, leave, deductions and back pays
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, STP and statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, reporting and year-end activities
- Interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Fair Work legislation
- Act as the key escalation point for payroll enquiries across the business
- Maintain payroll data integrity across payroll, HRIS and time & attendance systems
- Partner with Finance, IT and People & Culture to improve payroll processes and systems
- Support payroll audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver payroll reporting and insights to support business decision-making.
About You
You'll be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and delivering exceptional service.
You'll also bring:
- 5+ years' experience processing end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation
- High-volume payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and statutory obligations
- Experience interpreting Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ADP Payroll and Etivity (or similar Time & Attendance systems) is highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
