About the Role
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Corporate Services, and working closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, this role will be required to reset and strengthen organisational culture and understanding of Endeavour Foundation as a fundraising organisation, essential to our ongoing ability to provide lifelong opportunities for people with intellectual disability.
The Head of Philanthropy is responsible for leading Endeavour Foundation's fundraising and philanthropy strategy to support the organisation's strategic priorities and create life-changing opportunities for people with disability.
This role will manage and strengthen relationships with a diverse range of donors, philanthropic organisations, trusts, foundations, corporate partners, and community supporters while identifying new opportunities to maximise both financial and non-financial contributions. The Head of Philanthropy will also drive growth in the organisation's brand awareness, supporter engagement, and fundraising revenue.
As a senior leader, you'll champion a culture of ethical, best-practice fundraising that aligns with the Fundraising Institute Australia Code of Conduct and reflects Endeavour Foundation's values and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Fundraising Leadership
- Develop, implement and continually refine a best-practice philanthropy and fundraising strategy in close alignment with organisational priorities.
- Lead fundraising initiatives across philanthropy, major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, grants, community fundraising, bequests and donor programs.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and donor acquisition strategies to maximise sustainable revenue growth.
- Develop and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, partnerships and supporter engagement activities.
- Establish and monitor fundraising performance metrics, providing insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate partners and key community stakeholders.
- Create and deliver exceptional donor stewardship and retention programs that strengthen engagement and long-term support.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders across the organisation to identify impactful fundraising opportunities.
- Represent Endeavour Foundation at networking events, industry forums and community engagements to increase awareness and support.
Leadership & Team Development
- Inspire, lead and develop a high-performing fundraising team focused on innovation, accountability and results.
- Foster and model a collaborative, inclusive and values-driven team culture.
- Coach and mentor team members, supporting their professional growth and fundraising capability.
- Lead performance, talent development and workforce planning initiatives to ensure team success.
Governance & Financial Management
- Ensure all fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation, ethical standards and fundraising best practice.
- Lead the development and management of fundraising budgets and revenue forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance, fundraising ROI and strategic outcomes.
- Ensure donor intentions, funding agreements and acquittal requirements are effectively managed and fulfilled.
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
- 10+ years' experience in senior fundraising, philanthropy or revenue generation leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success securing significant funding through diverse fundraising channels, including major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships and community fundraising.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans that deliver measurable growth.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and driving a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability.
- Strong understanding of fundraising legislation, governance, ethical standards and industry best practice.
Skills & Capabilities
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with a genuine passion for social impact.
- Ability to identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions and deliver sustainable growth.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Business, Sales, Events or a related field, or equivalent experience.
