About The Role

The Project Manager will be accountable for ensuring the successful management and delivery of high value, highly complex business systems projects focussing on solution design, delivery and implementation. This will require consultation and coordination with all stakeholders and subject matter experts to implement business requirements and priorities to deliver solutions which achieve agreed business outcomes.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver high-value, complex business systems projects, ensuring successful solution design, delivery and implementation
  • Consult and coordinate with all stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business requirements and priorities into agreed outcomes
  • Provide leadership in matters of governance and probity, strategic and business planning, and resolution of complex risks and issues
  • Maintain strong project planning and control, including risk and issue management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Liaise and negotiate with people across business areas, functions and the organisation with a focus on achieving high quality outcomes
  • Support change management to integrate new ICT capabilities with organisational transformation needs
  • Identify and analyse complex legislative or regulatory requirements applicable to the relevant industry and work environment

Essential Skills And Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in named project management roles
  • High level leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to take a lead role across business, vendor and project stakeholders
  • High level project management skills and experience in project management methodologies, techniques and frameworks, with emphasis on strong project planning and control, risk and issue management
  • Demonstrated track record in providing leadership in governance and probity, strategic and business planning, resolving complex risks and issues, and successful delivery of agreed business priorities and objectives
  • Excellent liaison skills and the ability to negotiate with people across business areas, functions and the organisation with a focus on achieving high quality outcomes
  • Proven ability to effectively support change management to integrate new ICT capabilities with organisational transformation needs
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Visio and standard office tools (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), proficient in JIRA and SharePoint or able to quickly acquire these skills
  • Experience identifying and analysing complex legislative or regulatory requirements applicable to the relevant industry or work environment

Desirable

  • Experience working within a large, complex and high-profile ICT project or program environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management framework
  • Experience in technical concepts including system analysis, design, integration and associated interfaces
  • Experience working in a government environment, with preference for policing or emergency services sectors
